Moving with Mystery: A Continuum Retreat
With Elaine Colandrea
July 9 - 12, 2026
Embodied Practices for Meeting the Unknown
RETREAT BY INVITED PRESENTER
How do we adapt to the unfolding processes of life within us and around us? Whether we are in a place of discomfort or vitality, Continuum offers a template for discovery and learning. We tap into the life-affirming resources encoded in our human biology and that of nature, broadening awareness beyond everyday consciousness to connect more deeply with ourselves and with all of life.
To highlight our connection with the natural world, we will divide our time between the covered Outdoor Pavilion and the indoor Milarepa Hall, weather dependent, therefore class size is strictly limited.

“Elaine led us gracefully through a continuum deep dive into our bodies, ourselves and the cosmos. She continues to amaze me with her capacity to hold space and create opportunities to explore life.”
“Moving with the group in the beauty of nature in the outdoor pavilion was nurturing and restorative. I was grateful for the peaceful environment.”
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The breathing, sounding, fluid movement and silent awareness practices of Continuum untether us from everyday concerns, from survival activities, from our familiar relationship with identity. By grounding our experience in felt sensation, we are free to develop our navigational skills in the land of the unknown. We open to the potential of becoming comfortable with the unknowable, with being “dwellers on the threshold” – a phase from Continuum founder Emilie Conrad.
Throughout this weekend, our sessions offer us self-directed time and space to explore biological awareness with sequences of breath, sound and movement, bringing us more deeply into our own true nature and that of life itself – mutable, ever-changing, endlessly creative, whole and connected to each other and the greater world.
This workshop will include some of Emilie Conrad’s most treasured practices. An ability to be self-referential and curious are the main qualities needed to drop deeply into this somatic movement practice.
