Continuum Retreat: Swimming in the Light of the Big Bang

With Elaine Colandrea

September 4 - 7, 2025

RETREAT BY INVITED PRESENTER

With Continuum there is the potential to lighten one’s density of being. Layers of tension, restrictive habits and patterns of holding melt away, liberating one’s life force, in the way water dissolves stone. Broadening awareness beyond everyday consciousness connects us more deeply with ourselves and with all of life. It becomes possible to truly experience astrophysicist Renee Hlozek’s answer to the question of what humans are doing on earth: “We are swimming in the light of the big bang.” Come join this dance!

To highlight our connection with the natural world, we will divide our time between the covered Outdoor Pavilion and the indoor Milarepa Hall, weather dependent, therefore space is limited to 16 participants.

“Moving with the group in the beauty of nature in the outdoor pavilion was nurturing and restorative. I was grateful for the peaceful environment.”

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Continuum is a somatic (body-based) movement meditation augmented by breath and sound practices. After being introduced to sequences, each participant explores the material at their own pace and rate. This affords space and time for self-regulation—which is often not available in daily life.

Multiple days of Continuum in the serene retreat setting of Dharmakaya allow participants to immerse in the breath, sound and fluid movement practice founded by Emilie Conrad and carried by long-time teaching guide Elaine Colandrea.

Possible benefits are:

  • Decreased physical tension
  • Improved ease of movement
  • Release of self limiting habits
  • Broadened awareness
  • Awakened creativity

All the Continuum practices can be continued at home. No special skills or materials are needed. If you have a body, you can do Continuum.
