A Spring Retreat: Iyengar Yoga
With Matt Dreyfus
May 2 - 4, 2025
RETREAT BY INVITED PRESENTER
Spring is a special time of year, and Dharmakaya is the perfect environment to feel the change of season in your body and mind, as dormant energy comes back to life. Join us as we dive deep into yoga practice, getting more connected through integration of breath in asana, leading us naturally into the practice of pranayama. We’ll have time for discussion and exploration of the principles that guide our practice. You’ll go deeper within yourself, surrounded by other sincere yoga practitioners—ultimately leaving refreshed and ready to re-enter your life.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
As natural beings, it’s important for us to take time and space to connect with ourselves. When we do, we find we are more connected with others, and with our world. Iyengar Yoga practice is a life-long adventure in learning about ourselves and how to live with a sense of ease and freedom. Each class throughout the weekend will have a different focus, all working together to bring about a clear, open state of being. You will:
- Go deeper into the integration of body, breath and mind, understanding how to use yoga to address your state of being
- Learn the principles of yoga through exploration of asana (yogic postures) and pranayama (yogic breathing practices), and discussion of yoga philosophy
- Focus on integration of breath
- Experience the natural relationship of asana and pranayama, the flow from body to breath to the deeper mind
- Explore this relationship through active, dynamic practice, as well as quieter, restorative practice
This nourishing weekend of deeper Iyengar Yoga practice will give you inspiration to start the season with freshness and vitality.
