Vidyadhar (Vijay) Koparkar began his musical training at the age of eight, and after 22 years of study, has become a noted performer and teacher himself.
He initally spent eight years studying with Dr.Madhusudan Patwardhan, then trained with Dr. Vasantrao Deshpande for the next five years, and Pandit Jitendra Abhisheki for the following seven years. He also studied with Pt. Chandrakantji Apte, Balasaheb Puchwale, and Dr. Aba Godbole
For the past 35 years, Vijay has taught students from India, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Singapore, and Germany. His goal is to ensure strong training in Indian Classical Music continues for a younger generation.
